Through an NSF-funded Engineering Research Center, the City of West Palm Beach and Florida Atlantic University are harnessing local data, in real time, for the public good through the development of applications for the streetscape – neighborhood streets, sidewalks, and public spaces – where many public and commercial activities take place.

By providing information on how these technologies collect and use data, how privacy will be protected, and who is accountable for the use of these technologies and the outcomes they enable, the use of the Digital Trust for Places and Routines (DTPR) standard empowers residents to weigh in on decisions around which technologies are used and how they are applied.
